1. WHAT IS REQUIRED TO RENT A SCOOTER? DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL LICENCE?

You need to come with your passport or identity card, a credit card to pay a security deposit and your driving licence. The law in Spain allows you to drive a 50 cc and 125 cc scooter with your normal car driving licence. You need a valid driving licence for Spain - car or motorbike license - for instance, the normal American driving licence just needs to be translated by an official translator.

2. IS ANY DEPOSIT NECESSARY?

You need to pay a deposit of 150 EUR. You can pay either in cash or by credit card. However, it will not be charged to your card unless there is any event that would require it.

3. CAN THE SCOOTER BE USED BY TWO PEOPLE?

You can ride all our scooters with a passenger. If there are two of you, you will need an extra helmet, which will cost 3 EUR.

4. WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT OR THE SCOOTER IS STOLEN?

You are fully covered by the insurance for damages against third parties. For damages caused to the scooter, or theft of the scooter, the insurance reduces the amount to be paid to an excess of 500 EUR - in case of compliance with the rental agreement. There is also the possibility to hire full insurance for your scooter.

5. WHAT IS COVERED BY THE INSURANCE?

The insurance which is already included in the rental price covers third party damages, a personal insurance, and life insurance for the driver. Additionally, road assistance on national level is also included. The damages on the scooter or theft are covered with the excess of 500 EUR.

6. DO I NEED TO FILL THE TANK WITH PETROL?

You must refill the tank to the same level as you have rented it or we will charge you an extra 10 EUR for the tank of gasoline when you bring the scooter back.

7. CAN I TRAVEL OUTSIDE THE CITY?

You are only allowed to travel within the city limits. Without contracting an additional insurance with Cooltra, the renter is not allowed to drive outside the metropolitan area or on motorways (except the Balearic Islands).

8. IS IT POSSIBLE TO PURCHASE A FULL COMPREHENSIVE/ EXTRA INSURANCE?

Yes. You can purchase the extra insurance which reduces the excess of the scooter to 0 EUR in case of damages and 150 EUR in case of theft or robbery.

9. DO YOU HAVE DELIVERY SERVICE?

Yes, we do. In your online reservation just select as “extra” different kinds of hotel and airport deliveries and pick ups.

10. WHAT IF I CANCEL MY RESERVATION?

 Our cancellation policy is the following:

  • Cancelling 7 days before the rental period starts: reimburse 90% of the total
  • Cancelling between 6 and 1 day before the rental period starts: voucher with 12 months validity to use the service anytime
  • Cancelling the same day: No refund
