Motorcycle hire in Cascais

Cascais is the first destination you go after you decided to leave Lisbon. This town is full of serenity, authentic Portuguese charm, and beautiful seaside. It will stay in your heart forever, and let us explain you why.

First of all, Cascais is full of beautiful and cozy beaches. Such as Ribeira Beach – a perfect one for sunbathing and swimming and wild beach Praia do Guincho – windsurfing paradise with golden sand.

Going further (about 1.5 km to the west) you will find one of the main nature wonders of Portugal – Boca do Inferno. This is an interesting cliff formation close to Cascais, which has been given an overly dramatic name of Hell’s Mouth. The cliff has a shape of a naturally shaped arch, waves splash in the open cave and the force of the ocean is funneled into a  chasm which gives a bit scary but absolutely spellbinding howl.

The whole seaside is a continuous pleasure to be wherever you look for laying down in the sun, looking for picturesque views and sea rocks or want to go for surfing, kitesurfing and windsurfing.

Back to the town, you can walk through narrow, light streets. Shops, bars and restaurants are all around for you to have a small rest and enjoy rich local gastronomy. To experience the real Portuguese spirit visit Mercado da Vila, where you will find fresh local produce: olives, cheeses, nectarines, bread, wines, pastries and also few line-up bars and restaurants.

Continuing with cultural attractions of the town, it is not possible not to mention Parque Sintra-Cascais – a natural park with breathtaking landscapes and Pena Palace for panoramic views and Santa Marta Lighthouse – a 25meter structure with a museum inside, telling you all the secrets and curious technical aspects of the lighthouse optics.

For museum lovers: Castro Guimaraes Museum (Museu Condes de Castro Guimarães) – a castle combining Portugues and Arabic style elements will demonstrate you a private art collection of Jorge O´Neil and Museu do Mar Rei Dom Carlos with maritime history costumes, boats and fisherfolk tools.

Be careful about not skipping wild Parque Marechal Carmona – one of the most beautiful and hidden treasures of Cascais. It is a perfect place for a midday shady chill from seaside crowds surrounded by pines, birches, palms, eucaliptus and rose plants.

If it was not enough, we also recommend to check out the best viewpoint of the town – Duna da Cresmina – built in 2013 this nature interpretation center was built with an aim of protection of the fragile flora and fauna of the coastal dune system.

From the first sight Cascais seems to be a town with a nice beach area but in fact, there are plenty of unexpectedly interesting places to visit which will make you visit even more memorable.

To go around the town in a fast and easy way we advise you to rent a scooter in Cascais. Cooltra scooter rental is now available in this small and charming town. Book online. For more information check our terms and conditions.
